The arboretum at Veterans Memorial Park holds over 60 trees that have been dedicated to U.S. military veterans. Town arborist Kevin Sigmon explains how to identify trees and points out the unique tree specimens in the park, including chestnut trees, as well as telling how the park came into existence. The Abingdon Outdoor Adventurer Activity Book features the arboretum, and youth may get a copy at this event.
