Ellen Reynolds of Beagle Ridge Herb Farm shows live butterflies and talks about identifying and nurturing butterflies and raising lavender. Beagle Ridge Herb Farm near Wytheville has a Flying Flowers butterfly house, which is one of the top destinations to see butterflies in the United States. It also takes part in tagging butterflies and monitoring the Monarch population. Virginia is second only to Washington state in the production of lavender. The mountains are a perfect spot to grow lavender. Beagle Ridge raises lavender and distills lavender oil.
