Details: Hungry Mother is an unusual name that makes many wonder how the park was named. Join a park interpreter to learn the legend and enjoy more of the beautiful landscape of the park. A hike on the Molly's Knob trail offers views of the lake and sounds of the forest. Then at the top while taking a rest, the interpreter will recount the legend of Hungry Mother. This trail has a steep incline and is rated as difficult. Children should be accompanied by an adult. Length is 4 miles round trip. Bring water and wear closed-toed shoes.
