Upper Tennessee River Roundtable’s Save Our Streams Coordinator Cathy Landy will demonstrate how to catch and identify macroinvertebrates, the tiny creatures that live in healthy streams. This interactive event is suitable for children, parents, and teachers. After the stream demonstration, children will be invited to follow “Tony, the trash bag” in a game that shows how litter travels throughout a community. The workshop will be on Toole’s Creek at White’s Mill near Abingdon. Participants can sign up for the Roundtable’s Adopt-A-Stream Program that includes stream monitoring and litter pickups.
